Hong Kong joins the Iris family

The Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival – the first festival of its kind in Asia – has joined the list of international partner festivals for the inaugural Iris Prize.

"We’re honoured to be associated with such an important award as Iris" said Vicci Ho, director of the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, which has since developed into the most significant Lesbian and Gay festival in Asia. "I believe our festival can allow the Iris Prize to gain more exposure in Asia and attract quality short films from Asian filmmakers."

"We’re delighted that Hong Kong has come on board" said Berwyn Rowlands, founder of the Iris Prize. "By working together with Vicci and her team we will aim to raise awareness of Iris in Hong Kong and Asia, and connect with its great wealth of filmmaking talent."

"Our vision is to see Iris develop into a truly international event. For this to happen we need to make sure that the Iris Prize has access to all the short film making talent worldwide. Working with partner festivals is the best way to achieve this and over the coming weeks we expect to be announcing that more festivals will be joining the Iris family.
