Competing filmmakers attending confirmed

·         Highest number of short-listed filmmakers to attend the festival

·         8 countries represented including Australia, Israel and Sweden

·         Strong contingency from the USA and UK

With only two weeks to go to the Iris Prize Festival in Cardiff (7 – 10 October), the organisers are delighted to announce that over half of the nominated filmmakers will be present in the Welsh capital for the three day festival.

"I’m delighted that so many of the short-listed filmmakers are able to attend the festival. This is the highest number in the festivals history and we expect the final number to increase. This is what a festival is all about connecting the people who make films with the people who watch them," said Berwyn Rowlands from the Iris Prize.

The short-listed filmmakers will join the International Jury, sponsors, Friends of Iris and members of the general public for what promises to be a must attend festival for anyone with interest in cinema, new talent, and meeting new, interesting and easily excitable people from all around the world.
