Iris Education is a project funded by Ffilm Cymru Wales which allows the Iris team to work with pupils from schools across Wales to tackle homophobic bullying.

In 2019, Iris Education will offer two schools the opportunity to work with professional filmmakers to create a short film with an LGBT+ theme. The two films will then be shown at the opening night of Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival in October 2019. Working with Into Film and Ffilm Cymru Wales, the project builds on our extensive experience developing young filmmakers and making short films with schools and communities in Wales.

The two schools taking part will be chosen via competition. To enter, schools should submit an idea for their film by 24th May 2019 including:

1. A short synopsis of the film (no more than 2 sentences)
2. A script for your film concept
3. A storyboard detailing the scenes and potential shots in your film
4. Details of potential locations for filming

To assist in this process, we are delighted to be working with Into Film and you can find their guides on developing a film idea here.

The full details of the competition can be found at Iris Education Schools Competition or by contacting mark@irisprize.org
